Clubs Reserves Trust

Foundation Home | Trusts | Clubs Reserves Trust

As established between the Apex Foundation and the Association of Apex Clubs, funds in this trust always remain the property of the investing Apex club. Funds cannot be transferred without the written approval of the investing Apex Club.

Background

  • Apex Foundation established this trust to allow individual Apex Clubs to invest reserve funds without the need for an individual club trust deed. A copy of the Trust deed will be made available on request, to a prospective investing club.
  • Clubs will be able to invest funds to attract a return that is most likely higher than is currently available in mainstream financial institutions. History of investment returns is available on request, to a prospective investing club.
  • Costs associated with the investment are very low. The fee is based on the proportion the club invests in relation to the whole Apex Foundation investment portfolio. It also depends on the term length of the club's investment.

Conditions

  • The source of the funds must be notified (Club General, Service or Reserves Account). this is required so that investment returns can be allocated against the correct accounts.
  • Minimum initial investment and account balance is $5,000 (clubs may combine their account funds to achieve this amount).
  • Deposits and withdrawals must be in multiples of $1,000 after the initial deposit.
  • Minimum investment term is 3 months. Funds are available at a seven (7) day call.
  • Investment income can either be reinvested or paid back to the club. The investment income is calculated monthly and paid annually or on total withdrawal of the investment. Clubs will receive an investment and income transaction report in January and July each year. These will be suitable for club audit purposes.
  • In the unfortunate event of an Apex Club winding up, whilst having a reserve investment account with the Apex Foundation, the normal rules of the Association of Apex Clubs of Australia would apply to the funds.
